Biography

Ohireme Uanzekin is an architectural designer and multidisciplinary creative based in Dubai, whose work explores the intersection of spatial design, narrative, culture, and emerging immersive environments. A graduate of Architecture from Heriot-Watt University Dubai, his design approach reframes architecture as a participatory and time-based medium, one that is experienced as a story rather than a static object. His projects investigate the relationship between landscape, community, and identity, often using natural systems and heritage frameworks as catalysts for contemporary spatial proposals. His work gained regional recognition after being selected as the winner of the inaugural Dubai Design District Award in November 2025, where his proposal Abora – The Urban Earthscape presented a new model for inclusive, community-driven space embedded within the logic of the ground. The project reflects his broader interest in designing environments that evolve with their users and reconnect people to place through shared experience.Ohireme’s academic and independent work has been exhibited and acknowledged across international platforms including Dubai Design Week, the RIBA Future Architects Showcase, and the Paradyz Designers Award. He is also a recipient of the Watt Club Medal for academic excellence and previously won the international Cosentino Design Challenge, demonstrating a consistent commitment to conceptual innovation and design research.Alongside his work in the Middle East, he has contributed to cultural and creative initiatives in Lagos, developing spatial concepts for large-scale artistic and performance-driven projects. These cross-continental experiences inform a perspective that is both globally aware and deeply rooted in questions of heritage, identity, and the future of African cities.Working across architectural design, concept development, visual communication, and speculative research, Ohireme resists being confined to a single discipline. His long-term ambition is to operate within forward-thinking, experience-driven environments where architecture, storytelling, and digital worlds converge
